The Transcriptions Series series

Recital Music publish a wealth of original works for double bass alongside a popular, accessible and growing range of transcriptions for bassists of all ages and abilities. Most transcriptions published by Recital Music are by David Heyes, who has a successful and proven track record when arranging for double bass.

Dextera Domini is originally for solo voices, 3-part chorus, organ and double bass and is the third of 'Trois Offertoires', composed in 1871. Arranged for double bass quartet and piano (or organ) by David Heyes, this lyrical and evocative work transcribes well for double basses, also playable with massed basses. Each part allows the double bass to produce a singing and sonorous tone, imitating the wonderful sound of a church choir.

Cesar Franck (1822-1890) produced a wealth of choral and organ music and his Sonata for violin and piano is now a popular transcription for double bass.
