The Transcriptions Series series

Recital Music publish a wealth of original works for double bass alongside a popular, accessible and growing range of transcriptions for bassists of all ages and abilities. Most transcriptions published by Recital Music are by David Heyes, who has a successful and proven track record when arranging for double bass.

Two movements from Peter Warlock's Capriol Suite, originally for string orchestra, transcribe well for double bass quintet. The inventive and evocative music is suited to the good intermediate ensemble and basses 1 and 2 play in thumb position, the others remaining in bass clef throughout.

Pavane is lyrical and elegant, contrasting a more lively, vibrant and energetic Basse-Danse. These arrangements have been popular at Bass-Fest and other workshops.

Who better to play 'Basse Danse' than the bassists!
