The Transcriptions Series series

Recital Music publish a wealth of original works for double bass alongside a popular, accessible and growing range of transcriptions for bassists of all ages and abilities. Most transcriptions published by Recital Music are by David Heyes, who has a successful and proven track record when arranging for double bass.

2007 marked the 100th anniversary of the death Edvard Grieg (1843-1907) of Norway's most famous composer, and this lively, exciting and new transcription for 6 double basses and optional percussion (Bass Drum & Cymbals), can be performed by sextet or larger forces. The optional percussion adds to the general mood and drama, and the opening pizzicato theme builds to an exciting and exuberant climax, offering musical and technical challenges for most players.

Effective and evocative music for the good bass ensemble looking for something a little different, and ideal for any occasion or audience. Have fun!
