Edited by John White, this is probably one of the finest works ever written for ensemble of violas.
Written in 1911 for Lionel Tertis and his pupils at the Royal Academy of Music, it has a similar glittering quality to Schönberg's Verklarte Nacht.
This first printed edition of the work resolves the occasional inaccuracies which have crept into manuscript copies used by violists over the years.
