This release presents Ornette Coleman's seminal album "Ornette!" (Atlantic SD1378) in its entirety, featuring the saxophonist in a quartet format with Don Cherry, Scott LaFaro, and Ed Blackwell. Recorded right after the classic LP Free Jazz, the four tracks from Ornette! were taped during the course of a single session, which also produced three extra songs, added here as a bonus.
