Adrienne Fox was born in Consett, County Durham in 1941. She studied the piano with Eric Grant, singing with Philip Hattey and composition with Dorothy Howell at Royal Academy of Music in London. She graduated with a GRSM, a Certificate of Merit in piano and a BMus from London University.
She lectured in Music Education at Durham from 1962-1978 and was Head of Music at Skipton Girls' High School from 1978-1993.
Her children's piece for wind quintet, mime and active art 'Techno Team' (published by Phylloscopus) was awarded First Prize in the "Francesc Civil" City of Gerona composition competition for children's wind ensemble in 2003.
