Richard Benger (born 1945) is a Graduate and Fellow of Trinity College of Music where he was awarded several prizes for composition.
He taught music mostly in Buckinghamshire schools for over twenty-five years, and has been Organist and Choirmaster at St Michael's Church, Amersham (1976- 1993) and Holy Trinity Church, Bembridge (1996 to the present).
In addition to titles in the Spartan Music catalogue, Richard has a large quantity of other instrumental and vocal music to his name. These include a saxophone concerto and other works for this instrument; numerous piano and organ compositions; works and arrangements for recorder groups; many choral compositions, both large-scale and small; and about a hundred solo songs.
Projects in 2010 have included the publication of A Little Organ Book by Fagus Music; a String Quartet ('The Highland Malts') performed at the Ryde Arts Festival; and work on a flute concerto for Siobhan Cosgrove.
