The Mazurka is a traditional Polish dance in triple time, featuring a dotted rhythm and a certain accentuation on the second beat. Originating in Mazovia near Warsaw, the Mazurka's popularity was established by Chopin who wrote fifty or so for piano from 1830-49. These examples show his wide-ranging orginality in this most elegant and aristocratic of dance forms.

These lively and fun short dances are of intermediate difficulty and are ideal for introducing the budding young artist to a virtuosic approach to interpretation. Good value for money.
