'Ghosts' for junior string orchestra is aimed at young & inexperienced players of around grade 1 to 2 standard. It is intended to be a fun piece designed to help pupils explore various areas of technique such as pizzicato, col legno and glissando among others.

The young musicians can discover how various effects can enhance the subject matter and paint a picture of a creepy and fun ghostly adventure.

A first for us at Fourbass Music, we are proud to publish this fun piece for young players by one of the countries most experienced string teacher and coach.

About the composer

Richard Lewis has been a professional double bass player and teacher for many years, he has worked closely with young players through music conservatoires, schools and private teaching as well as being a a double bass coach to many youth orchestras in the UK. His passion for helping young players has resulted in the writing of music which illuminates the range of effects and tone colours for very player in the ensemble even if virtual beginners. Hopefully, this music will help stimulate and develop creativity amonst string players in early grades.
