At last a big and easy bass quartet book, easier than the Big Bass Quartet Book, these simple tunes are

for young & old,

Bass 4 1st & Half positions only

Bass 3 up to 2nd position

Bass 2 up to 3rd position

Bass 1 up to 4th position

After 20 quartets it begins to go a bit higher, only in the last folksong suite does the range increase to include bass 1 going up to top B, no clef other than bass clef.

These 30 popular tunes are aimed towards youth orchestra bass sections who will have a variety of standards. The pieces are within an ABRSM standard of grade 3 to 7 apart from the final suite which is more advanced.

It is important that all sections play together as often as possible, playing these pieces will not just entertain and amuse but help sections (young & old) to play together in a balanced way.
