Captain Corcoran's Basses is a a ten minute romp through the immortal Gilbert & Sullivan Operetta HMS Pinafore, as is often the case with my quartets it works best with two players with solid higher techniques and two with lower abilities, written for Mary Condliffe and the adult orchestral course at Harlech it proved a big success with the adult Double Bass section. If you know Pinafore it uses:

Overture\finale act1
A British Tar
I'm called little Buttercup
This very night
Never mind the why or wherefore
O joy O Rapture
I am the captain of the Pinafore
Finale Act 2

Remember above all to have fun!

Why not have a peek at the PDF file and see if you fancy the challenge,
