The 'purified' finds expression both in form and sound. The dramatic tension develops from the succession but sometimes also from the overlapping of short sections in every possible combination of the instruments and from the asymmetry of the two movements. The first one, in a gently flowing tempo, is of a cautious nature almost throughout. This 'preparation' is followed by a surprisingly short second part in a speedy tempo.. Format: Score.
