The famous Clog Dance, performed in the ballet by Widow Simone, danced in pantomime style by a man. The humour of the piece comes from the alternation of melodic passages with the rhythm rapped out by the dancer’s clogs on the floor. In this arrangement the 2nd horn takes centre stage by doubling on woodblock.
