This release compiles the complete original LP Zoot Sims in Paris (United Artists UAS15013), which presents the saxophonist performing live at the Blue Note club in a quartet format. As a bonus, another complete live show recorded by Sims in Paris at the same venue earlier that year. Also recorded in a quartet format, he is backed here by the great Bud Powell on piano (no other recordings by Powell and Sims exist), Pierre Michelot on bass, and another superb expatriate, Kenny Clarke, on drums.
