This release presents the complete original LP B.G. in Hi-Fi (Capitol W565). It features an all-star version of the Goodman orchestra, including Ruby Braff and Mel Powell, as well as various smaller groups featuring the leader as well as Braff, Powell, and trumpeter Charlie Shavers. Four songs that complete the sessions but were not included on the original LP, as well as an entire trio date recorded for Capitol earlier that year, have been added here as a bonus. This CD presents all existing recordings made by Goodman for Capitol in 1954.
