• Clifford Brown died in a car accident in 1956 at the tender age of 26, bringing one of the most exciting careers in jazz to a tragic close. He only recorded with three vocalists, all in 1954 : Dinah Washington, Helen Merrill and Sarah Vaughan - the latter record, considered by many to be the best of them all, is reissued here in its entirety (including an alternate take that didn’t appear on the original LP).
