Composer Information: Brian Harrison

Went into army band at 18 and played Clarinet & Sax. At 21 worked in the Blackpool music scene at various theatres, mainly Variety and Pantomime. Arranged music for the BBC in the Northern Dance Orchestra and the National Youth Jazz Orchestra. Worked on the Mecca Circuit in Blackpool and Manchester arranging music for 'Come Dancing' and the BBC's 'Songs of Praise'. Commissioned by the Musicians Union to compose a Blues March enjoyed by university and college big bands.

Emigrated to Spain in 1978 returning 1984 to do it all again.

Joined the Squadronaires Orchestra touring England with Mat Munro, Guy Mitchell etc. in the Barbican, Festival Hall, St. David's, Cardiff and toured with Larry Grayson - remember him? Played as a cocktail pianist on TV in crime scenes for Granada TV. Worked in clubs with a quartet backing cabaret. Arranged music for Wigan Youth Jazz Orchestra, who won Big band of the Year.

Currently teaching in schools and privately.
