Caroline Franklyn studied flute and piano at Trinity College of Music and has performed all over the country and in venues such as the Purcell Room and Wigmore Hall, with various chamber groups, and also as a solo recitalist. For many years she was the duo partner of the harpist Sioned Williams, with whom she gave concerto performances with orchestras such as the London Mozart Players. She now concentrates on educational work, teaching flute and piano in schools and privately in London and also in Deal, Kent. She conducts the Palace Band - a large all-woodwind ensemble which rehearses near Alexandra Palace in North London. Apart from Caroline's own arrangements for the Palace Band - some of which are published by Spartan Press - the Palace Band also regularly commissions new pieces from composers such as Paul Harris, Cecilia McDowall, Colin Cowles and James Rae.
