Alan Bullard is a busy composer, teacher and examiner. He has written for almost every instrument and his music is widely performed, broadcast and recorded. He is particularly known for his choral and educational music, and many of his pieces are set on examination syllabi.
Born in London in 1947, he studied with Herbert Howells at the Royal College of Music and at Nottingham University, and for many years was Head of Composition at the Colchester Institute. He is married to Jan, a singer and piano teacher, and their two children both work in the music business.
