Composer Information: Lee Mitchell

Lee Mitchell began studying the acoustic guitar at the age of ten. He was inspired by many artists and genres including

• Blues

• Folk

• Ragtime

• Ballads

• Jazz

Lee is also got involved in improvisation and delves into many classical styles and at the age of sixteen, he was personally encouraged by guitar Legend Mark Knopfler.

In the eighties Sir George Martin (of Beatles fame) commented approvingly on his song ‘Sri-Lanka Serenade’ and he has been privileged to jam with Calum MacColl, son of the Ewan MacColl, renowned icon of the traditional folk music movement. Lee is a published songwriter and his own song writing endeavours have received critical acclaim world wide.
