John Parsons taught for the Berkshire Young Musicians’ Trust (Area Curricular Coordinator for West Berks) for nine years, before taking up the post of Head of Strings at Charterhouse in 1992. He has taught the violin from pre-school to post-graduate levels, recorded several CDs (including the complete works for String Orchestra of Vaughan Williams) and conducted at the Schools’ Prom in the Royal Albert Hall. His particular interest is chamber music, and many of his ensembles have reached the finals in the National Chamber Music Competition for Schools. He works, when time allows, as a freelance violinist in the south of England.
