Composer Information: Mark Adelman

A professional jazz pianist since 1984, Mark Adelman has recorded and performed extensively throughout the world. Highlights include appearances at Montreux and Nice Jazz Festivals, Ronnie Scott's, London and Carnegie Hall, New York.

He has worked alongside such legends as Chaka Khan, George Benson and Lionel Hampton, and with established UK artists Mari Wilson, Ray Gelato, Claire Martin, and Jim Mullen.

Mark is currently leading his own band Jazz Dynamos who perform at numerous high profile events, from Tina Turner's birthday party to major film premieres. www.jazzdynamos.co.uk Many years experience teaching jazz piano to pupils of all ages has inspired two books for Spartan Press.

First Jazz Moves (SP458) introduces the pianist to jazz rhythms and harmonies in a clear and concise way, and includes two duets which achieve the complexities involved in creating an authentic jazz feel, without being too daunting for the jazz novice.

Moving Towards Jazz (SP433) explores several different jazz idioms and includes suggested recordings to help develop an interest in jazz.
